Carbide Tipped
Available: In stock
Available Sizes: 1-3/8" and 2" Depth of Cut
Description : The ultimate in hole cutters, not only for difficult to machine metals but also for high volume drilling applications. Carbide normally endures longer than high speed steel cutters by 10x or more but care should be taken in choosing applications. Carbide does not work well on softer metals and may not be suitable for all machines since it is more sensitive to chocks and vibrations. But with a powerful magnetic drill which clamps securely to the material, carbide can be used on nearly all metals with vast improvements over HSS and Cobalt Alloy Steel.

Cobalt
Available: In stock
Available Sizes: 1", 2" and 3" Depth of Cut
Description : Broach cutting using Preferred cutters means you can produce large diameter holes efficiently and quickly with less energy, faster penetration and less thrust. Rather than drilling out the metal with a solid drill, Preferred cutters removes only the periphery of the hole, ejecting a slug at the end of the cut. Tests show that a solid drill will take 3 minutes, 45 seconds to drill a 1-1/4 inch hole in 3/4 inch plate. A Preferred cutter can do the same job in 35 seconds
